8 privacy protection apps for Mac and Windows

This article was first published on the LIZHI.SHOP blog (lizhi.io, now offline) on July 29, 2018, and is now republished with minor adjustments.

Recently, Adobe released a "China-only version" of Adobe Flash Player. This "special edition" caused an uproar because its user agreement stated that the software could collect users' online privacy.

After the incident, although Adobe quickly revised the agreement, saying it "would not involve any invasion of user privacy," this looked more like a response to negative publicity. If it really wanted to collect private data, most of us would have no way of knowing.

Now that the internet has evolved to this point, our tolerance for "privacy violations" has grown, and more often we "sacrifice privacy for convenience." Has "protecting privacy" really become less important?

Is that really the case? I believe there are still plenty of people like me who continue to value personal privacy.

Here, LIZHI.SHOP recommends 8 excellent privacy protection apps, covering antivirus protection, ad blocking, anti-tracking, and file encryption. We believe you'll find a tool you need.
